Campaign
One broadcast to a list or a segment, sent at a time you choose, with its own stats
A campaign is a single marketing email sent to an audience: one piece of content, one recipient set, one send. A newsletter issue, a product announcement, a seasonal offer.
It is a discrete event, which is what distinguishes it from a workflow — a workflow keeps reacting to individual people over time, where a campaign happens once and is finished.
What a campaign is made of
- An audience, usually a segment rather than your whole contact list.
- Content, either written inline or from a reusable template with variables.
- A schedule, now or at a chosen time.
In Sendly
Campaigns are a first-class API object as well as a dashboard screen, so one can be
created, scheduled, paused, resumed and cancelled from code — and by an AI agent, if you
have granted it that. Drafting a campaign and sending one are separate permissions:
campaigns:write builds it, campaigns:send puts it in people's inboxes. That split is
what makes it safe to let an agent prepare a campaign for you.
Every send is checked against your suppression list as it goes out, so an address that unsubscribed after the segment was evaluated is still skipped.
Per-campaign stats — delivered, bounced, opened, clicked, complained — are available in the dashboard and through the API.
